About Us

The Team

We're a team of approximately 23 volunteers from a wide range of occupations and backgrounds including Rural Fire, Police, ex-Military, government and self-employed personnel.

We train fortnightly and also with other regional Response Teams when possible. Our training focuses on our core capability of General Rescue and USAR Light Rescue, we also train in Flood and Storm Response and Swiftwater Rescue.

Other activities covered during training and exercises include chainsaw use, communications, Incident Management and 4 Wheel Driving.

Our team is qualified to the NZ Orange Card CAT 1A standard.

Our recent activations have been assisting:

• local Police SAR with missing persons search operations in Upper Hutt, Wainuiomata, and Plimmerton, and
• natural adverse weather events.
